I've been thinking a lot about what drives me as a senior communications professional and the core values of Cross Wise Communications Ltd. Here's how I explain it.

If there is an Academy Awards of Professional Communications, I hope to be nominated for the Best Communicator in a Supporting Role. When I analyse what makes Cross Wise Communications work, it's the Supporting Role that drives much of my business and gives me satisfaction.

I bring tangible results and positive outcomes to professional communicators and their organizations by:

	Designing better structures and service offerings for communication departments based on solid research
	Achieving results from planning meetings and staff workshops
	Supporting communicators to build their skills and to be highly successful in their roles
	Bringing talented communicators and job prospects together

My work in a Supporting Role is all about building capacity in new or existing communications departments.

It's true I wouldn't mind being nominated as the Best Communicator in a Leading Role too. Part of my business thrives in the front-and-centre leadership role teaching communicators and front-line managers. I play this role with enthusiasm and passion, offering training and workshops such as:

	Embracing your multi-generational workforce workshops
	Strategic communications planning workshops for communicators
	Face-to-face communications training for front-line managers

Even in a Leading Role, my work is really about supporting professional communicators and their organizations.

I’ve been proud to be awarded two IABC Gold Quill Awards of Excellence — 2006, Curbside Recycling Given Nod, with JoAnne Kleb, ABC, Valhalla Communications and 2012, City of Kelowna Communications Audit, with Elaine Dixson, ABC, APR, MC. In addition, the City of Kelowna Communications Audit was selected for the 2012 Business Issue Award by the IABC Gold Quill Chair.
