Community Service

Glenna Cross, ABC, MC is a long-standing and active supporter of her community.

Community volunteer activities have included:

		Condo board - vice-chair
		Calgary Reads (An Early Literacy Initiative) Society - Board past-chair, chair, vice-chair, fundraising chair
		Calgary Women's Emergency Shelter - Board member, fundraising chair and co-chair/committee member of Turning Points fundraising dinner
		Calgary Corporate Challenge - Board member and co-chair
		Calgary Birth Control Association - board member and president
		University of Calgary Alumni Association - board member

Professional association volunteer activities have included:

International Association of Business Communicators

		Board member and chapter president
		Canada district board member
		Canada Conference 2004 "committee of elders"
		Gold Quill and Silver Leaf judging panels and award co-ordination
		Accreditation team - workshop facilitator, exam proctor, mentor
		And many more ad hoc committees and projects

Glenna was the first recipient of IABC Calgary's long service volunteer award in 2001, and the recipient of the Master Communicator designation in 2005.
